We share with our audience our passion and knowledge for music, our love for people and our flare for fun!   The Hot Wax Team:     Elliott Kipnes, President &Operations Manager Elliott is touted as an expert on how to motivate a crowd and keep them entertained. He began his career playing the lunch-hour tunes at his high school and went on to graduate from BCIT Radio Broadcasting. He's been in the business of getting people dancing for over 24 years having, personally performed at over 1000 events. Elliott’s voice is clear and distinctive, which makes him a natural for voiceover work, advertising and of course, disc jockeying. His passion for music and his ability to entertain is what makes Elliott unique. His success is built on his innovative approach to the DJ business, which includes a strong advertising component, constant upgrading of technology and a superior training program for his staff. On the flip side, his commitment to serving his clients is unparalleled in a business that is often inconsistent. When he’s not spinning tunes, Elliott trains youths to be the next up-and-coming DJ's. Elliott is always looking for the opportunity to take not-for-profit organization events to the next level.     Ozzie Kipnes, Sales & Marketing Guru Ozzie brings over 20 years of experience with her from past careers in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries, where she planned and managed hundreds of events for celebrities and business leaders. Ozzie’s entrepreneurial spirit took flight in the early 1990s, when she created her own catering company, Second Helpings. Since then, she’s been on the rampage to build business opportunities, which she does with enthusiasm and flare! Ozzie is currently on a quest to produce superior products in the DJ market place. Hot Wax is a great example of Ozzie’s determination and will to create a DJ company that reaches markets beyond the wedding crowds. Microsoft and Helijet are just two major corporations who have raved about the Hot Wax experience. When she’s not working the job, Ozzie is working the room. An avid networker and volunteer, Ozzie belongs to a number of organizations, Business Network International (BNI). She also donates her spare time and resources to Adoptive Families Association. Ozzie's goal is to help others achieve theirs.   DJ Scott has been with Hot Wax for over 16 years! Over the years, Scott has performed at hundreds of corporate functions, weddings and not-for-profit events. Scott takes pride in his performances and enjoys playing requests. Popular with our clients, Scott receives rave reviews and often gets requested. His passion for music, his desire to entertain combined with great work ethics has made him a great asset to the Hot Wax team. In his spare time, Scott enjoys rebuilding old radios, and is constantly working on expanding his musical knowledge.       DJ Aman, a 9 year veteran with Hot Wax is well known in the community for being personable and accommodating. He is well versed in hip hop and old school and at youth events; Aman has been seen busting a move or moon walking across the dance floor. His diversity in ethnic music has enabled him to entertain at both weddings and multi cultural events. A standout basketball player in high school, Aman continually plays sports and is always looking for new ways to enhance his musical knowledge.       DJ Kyle has been with the Hot Wax team for over 4 years and can usually be seen working the teen dances, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs and various corporate events. Kyle offers versatility, and a notable knowledge of music. For three years, Kyle was the co-host of Rich City Idol which has provided him with the skills required to entertain and host large crowds with comfort and ease. Kyle is an aspiring actor and has appeared as a principal character in two nation-wide commercials, while also being cast in smaller parts on Canadian TV shows such as 'The 4400', and has completed internships at MTV Canada, City TV and XFM. Kyle also loves to write, and while in high school he wrote two school plays that were performed at the Richmond Youth Drama Festival.     DJ Matt has been with the Hot Wax team for over three years now, working at a wide range of events varying from teen dances, corporate parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, to weddings. His first interest in the field became evident upon receiving an award for achievement in broadcasting at his former high school, London Secondary, one which he shared with fellow Hot Wax DJ, Kyle. Currently holding a BA in Political Science, he has aspirations of becoming a lawyer. In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing hockey, baseball, golf, and poker, listening to a wide variety of music. His expanding knowledge of music and increasing experience in the DJ world have become vital in his ability to entertain at a variety of events. Matt's passion for his job is definitely one of his strongest assets, and he looks forward to seeing you at your next party!     DJ Jordan has been a DJ for 4 years and has quickly expanded his repertoire to include teen dances, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs and Corporate events and weddings. A 2nd year SFU Business student, he also operates and runs a Student Works Painting franchise. Jordan's reliability, commitment to detail and immense knowledge of music has made him a big asset to Hot Wax. In his spare time, Jordan can be seen snowboarding on the local hills.       DJ Taylor a Premiere Baseball pitcher has already proved himself to be the next up and coming DJ in the youth market. Not a stranger to the microphone, Taylor can often be seen leading dances, motivating the crowd and organizing contests. Taylor's cosmic knowledge of the various genres, great attitude and work ethic is a unique combination that is appreciated by both his fellow DJ's and client's alike. In his spare time, Taylor enjoys acting in school plays, tv commercials and musicals, writing music, snowboarding and playing Premiere Baseball.       DJ Anton began with Hot Wax 7 years ago. After spending 3 years in Edmonton spinning tunes in several bars and night clubs, Anton has happily returned to Vancouver, and is enthusiastically back with the team. Anton has extensive experience DJ'ing in various environments including Bar Mitzvahs, corporate functions and wedding receptions. In his spare time he can be found volunteering, keeping up with music, playing golf, and watching his favorite NHL team, the Vancouver Canucks.         DJ Kevin has been with Hot Wax for over 2 years. He always brings his "A" game and can be seen at various events including weddings, teen dances and bar/bat mitzvahs. Currently a full time radio and television arts student at Ryerson University, Kevin jumped at the opportunity of joining the Hot Wax Team for his first work experience in the DJ entertainment field. In his spare time, Kevin's hobbies include playing basketball, playing the drums, working out and playing poker. Since he was young, Kevin has always had a passion for music and looks forward to sharing it with you and your guests.     DJ Corey is one of the newest members to the Hot Wax team. Corey's love for music began through his piano playing, and has passionately crossed over to all genres of music ever since. Corey recently graduated from King David High School where he was known throughout the school for his daily announcements over the PA system. His announcements eventually grew to become more than just the delivery of school events, and morphed into an entertainment session for both students and teachers to enjoy. Corey's outgoing personality and good humor led him to MC all student events for the school. Corey currently attends UBC and is enrolled in the Human Kinetics program.     DJ Chuck is a seasoned veteran in the entertainment industry and his talents span from a producer, performer, musician and DJ. Having worked throughout Western Canada and as far as Mexico, he is most recognized in Calgary AB. If you are looking for an interactive host, with an extensive acting background, he's your guy. Want a laid back DJ with a stellar taste in a wide range of music? A specialist in themed events, Chuck will deliver your party/soiree.         DJ Ilan A fresh addition to the team, Ilan has been able to conquer the art of DJ'ing, and has already proven he's got what it takes to keep any young crowd entertained and dancing. His outgoing attitude, energetic and enthusiastic personality, charisma and love for music are great assets.  Quick learning abilities have enabled him to adjust to any environment. Ilan is always looking to increase his musical knowledge and experience in the world of disk jockeying. He can be seen working at many youth and teen events. Ilan volunteers as a councillor for children for a youth led program and has had a lot of experience in keeping people entertained. When he is not working Ilan enjoys spending time with his friends, and playing soccer. He also plays bass and guitar and writes his own songs. Ilan has a passion for what he does, loves to have fun and will make sure your party will be one to remember.
